I am so blessed to have a husband who I love and respect so much as the father of my (our) children! I realize that, unfortunately, this is not the case for every wife/mother.
Although, I don't tell this to Adam enough or affirm him as often as I should in his parenting, I unhesitatingly think he is the most wonderful father I have ever seen. :-)
I love how much enjoyment Adam gets out of our kids, how he loves to spend time with them, snuggle them, laugh with them, tickle them, and lovingly discipline them.
I so respect his consistency in discipline, his desire to spend as much time with his children as he can, and just the delight that he gets from being a father.
Here's an example of the delight that Adam's gets out of being a father to our kids:
Just the other night he wanted to take Ethan out for coffee, just the two of them.
Ethan had been playing all day with a red Starbucks cup ornament, and Adam thought he might enjoy getting a real red Starbucks cup and drinking some "real" coffee (milk) out of it.
So, off father and son went to hang out at Starbucks together in their matching pea coats...
Babe, I LOVE the fact that God has placed you in my life as my husband and the father of our kids. I love the father that you are and am blessed to be so encouraged by the way that I daily see you loving our kids for God's glory. The Gospel is so evident in the way that you love, discipline, and enjoy our children. Thank you for spurring me on in my own parenting and causing me to look to the cross and Christ's example of laying his life down for us.
