Discovery.

DEFINITION: something that is discovered; a productive insight.

The last couple days for Ethan have been ones of discovery. He has realized that he is capable of doing things he had no idea that he was, in fact, capable of doing. It has been fun to watch him grow and discover new things! Here are some videos and pictures illustrating what I mean.

Discovery #1:

Ethan has just realized that he has a tongue that he can stick out. Hopefully you will be able to see in this video that if we stick our tongues out at him, he tries to stick his tongue out at us (thanks rachel & sara for the cute gap shirts)

Discovery #2:

Ethan has just realized that he has hands that are actually connected to his body and are his very own! Very cool.

Discovery #3:

Not only has Ethan realized that he has hands, but he has realized that he can use them to bat at and hold onto things... Here he is holding onto some toys.He loves this toy frog of his. Just today he figured out that he can touch it and make it move.

Here is a cute video of Ethan talking to his friendly friend, Froggy.
PRESIDENT'S DAY TRIP:
Since Adam had the day off we went for a little outing in D.C.

We first grabbed a bite to eat at Union Station and then because it was raining outside, we walked around a little and then decided to buy an umbrella and venture out into the rain.Once outside for just a few minutes, our cheap umbrella broke and Adam had to resort to covering Ethan with his sweater while we continued to walk in the rain. Ethan was so good, though, even in the not-so-good weather. From Union Station we went to the National Museum of Natural History. Here Ethan and I are standing next to a dinosaur.
Once we left the museum it had thankfully cleared up...
After getting back from this trip we realized that we probably should have been more prepared... for instance, we probably should have brought an umbrella, some gloves for Ethan, and probably a hat too... We tried to make due with my gloves and a burp cloth... we got some smiles from people walking back home :-) (thanks stephen & shelley for the cute outfit!)Ethan was a great sport, though!

ADAM'S B-DAY:

Adam's Birthday was this last Saturday (the 16th). We had a fun day celebrating the 26 years of life that God, our sustainer, has so graciously given to Adam.
We went on a little outing "in search" of Adam's Big B-day present
Mission #1: Find a book at Borders and buy it... this was a clue to "throw Adam off"as to what He was actually getting... sneaky, I know :-) (Here is a classic pic of Adam... look at all those bookshelves!!)
Mission #2: Go to Best Buy and get 2 CDs. (me and Ethan outside of Best Buy getting excited about dad finding his gift soon)

Next, Adam found His real present, an IPOD hidden in the car! He was very excited, and I must ashamedly admit that Adam pretty much knew all along what he was getting. He was pleased to find out that his assumptions were, in fact, correct! :-)
To end the day, we went out for Adam's b-day dinner at a Japanese Steak House. It was a good time and because it was Adam's birthday we got to get our picture taken for free with a little Buddha statue (they printed us off a copy)! :-) We weren't thrilled about the little Buddha, but we figured, hey a free picture, we'll take it! (Thanks Jessica for babysitting!)

Fun discoveries all around, even if Adam already "knew" about the ipod! Ethan is such a cutie...and so big! It's hard to believe that's the same baby you brought home not so long ago.

OK Adam, Jen and Ethan,
We are trying again to send a comment, because we don't want to take a chance of you not sending more pics. We are "hooked" and check every day for new entries. We don't want you to think since there's never any comment that we don't cherish getting to keep updated on your lives.:)
Love you, Dad & Mom H and Melissa
